Privacy Policy

👋 Overview

Quiz Me ("we", "us", or "our") is a trivia app built by Rohan Paliwal. This privacy policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

By using Quiz Me, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

📋 Information We Collect

Account Information
You can create an account with Google Sign-In, Sign in with Apple (iOS), or email and password. Depending on the method you choose, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google or Apple, or we collect the email address and password you provide directly (passwords are handled by Firebase Authentication and are never stored by us in plain text). We use your name or email to generate a default username, which you can change.

Profile Data
We store the username and avatar you choose during onboarding (a set of cosmetic style selections, not a photo), along with your account creation date.

Game Data
We store your scores, correct answer counts, game history, streaks, XP, leaderboard rankings, coins, energy, daily quest progress, and Question of the Day results to power in-app features.

Friends & Social Features
If you use the Friends feature, we store your friend list, friend requests you send or receive, and game invites/challenges between you and other users. When you become friends with someone, your username and avatar become visible to that person. You can be found by other users searching by username.

Usage Analytics
We use Firebase Analytics (Google) to collect pseudonymous events such as screens viewed and buttons tapped, tied to an app-install identifier rather than your account. This data helps us understand how the app is used and improve it. Our analytics events do not include your username, email address, or account ID.

Advertising
We use Google AdMob to show optional rewarded video ads (for example, "watch an ad for +5 coins" or "+1 energy"). If you choose to watch one of these ads, AdMob may collect your advertising identifier (Google Advertising ID on Android, or IDFA on iOS, subject to your device's tracking permission), IP address, and other device and ad-interaction data to select, serve, and measure ads. This data is collected and processed by Google, not us — see Google's policies below. You are never shown ads unless you opt in by tapping to watch one.

Feedback
If you submit feedback through the app, we store the text you enter (topic suggestions, bug reports, general comments) along with the app version and submission timestamp.

Push Notification Token
If you grant notification permission, we store a device token to send streak reminders. You can revoke this at any time in your device's system settings.

Online Presence
We store a last-seen timestamp and online status to support real-time multiplayer matchmaking. This is not shown publicly beyond your match opponent.

App Integrity
We use Firebase App Check (including Google Play Integrity on Android) to verify that requests to our backend come from a genuine, unmodified copy of the app, in order to prevent abuse. This involves Google checking device and app integrity signals; it does not identify you personally.

• To detect and prevent abuse of our backend, via Firebase App Check

We do not sell your personal data. We do not show ads unless you choose to watch one for a reward, and we do not use your account information (name, email, username) for ad targeting.

👦 Children's Privacy

Quiz Me is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

🌍 Data Storage & Transfers

Your data is stored on Google Firebase servers. Firebase may store data in data centres located in the United States or other countries. By using Quiz Me, you consent to the transfer of your data to these servers.

🗑️ Data Deletion

You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing us at paliwalrohan39@gmail.com with the subject line "Delete My Account."

We will process your request within 7 days. Deleted data cannot be recovered.

🔄 Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
